Engine assembly

GENERAL INFORMATION

Assembly of the engine is described in appropriate sections. At assembly of the engine it is necessary to observe the following general instructions.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Before assembly check, whether details are cleared of pollution and extraneous particles.

2. On all moving parts it is necessary to apply a thin film greasings. It needs to be made before assembly, instead of after assembly as in this case oil can not get to rubbing surfaces. It is especially important to grease plentifully with impellent oil pistons, piston rings and walls of cylinders.

3. Carefully clear all parts of the block of cylinders if the engine was completely disassembled. At partial dismantling watch that extraneous particles did not get to not removed parts of the engine or hollow volumes. All openings stick or close rags.

4. Oil channels and openings best of all blow the compressed air. If the compressed air is not present, channels and openings close wooden caps, at all the metal. Sealing rings and laying always replace new. By no means from economy do not apply old sealing elements.

5. Values of a limit of wear of the majority of moving parts are given in Specifications. If concerning any detail there is a doubt or its wear is close to a limit, it is better to replace a detail with the new at once.

6. All spare parts are necessary for getting in Opel firm representations. Thus it is necessary to specify engine number. As changes are constantly made to a design of the engine, only the representative of Opel firm can guarantee you the corresponding spare part.
