Compression check

GENERAL INFORMATION


Remark

To check, whether enough valves densely adjoin at their closing, whether are worn-out or piston rings are broken or there are other malfunctions in cylinders, it is necessary to carry out measurement of a compression of all cylinders. For this purpose the engine should have working temperature.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To unscrew spark plugs.
2. To disconnect the ignition module
3. To open throttle and starting air zaslonka.
4. To insert компрессометр into an opening of the first candle.
5. To ask the assistant to squeeze out completely a pedal of gas and to include a starter.
6. To turn the crankshaft while компрессометр will not show the highest pressure.
7. One after another to check in the same way other cylinders.
8. By rules kompressionny pressure in one of cylinders should not make less than 80 % from result of the maximum measurement. Low, not the identical compression on cylinders can be caused by wear of piston rings that it is also possible to reveal on an excessive consumption of oil. At a good compression results should make at least 7.5 atm.
If the received values come nearer or are below the given minimum values, it indicates need of carrying out additional audit of the engine:
The difference between values of pressure of a compression of separate cylinders should not make more than 1.0 bar.
Wear of piston rings that should be accompanied by at the same time raised consumption of oil can be the reason of low pressure of compression.
9. At detection of a low compression in any cylinder in it a small amount of impellent oil through an opening under a spark plug is filled in and pressure is measured. If thus pressure of compression raises, probably, the reason lies in wear of piston rings. If indications компрессиометра do not change, the reason in a leakage of landing of valves. The reason can be also in a laying leakage between a head and the block of cylinders. In this case it is necessary to remove a head and to check interface.
On sale there are the special liquids which introduction in cylinders raises a compression. However they should be considered as temporary means.
After check remove компрессиометр, screw spark plugs and tighten them the moment of 20 Nanometers. Join shtekerny connections of candles.
