Removal and OHC engine installation



The engine is taken out from the car without a transmission. The mechanism of the corresponding loading capacity is for this purpose used. It is recommended to use for this purpose the help of the assistant. If you do not possess sufficient experience for carrying out considered operation, it is recommended to carry out it with participation of the skilled mechanic. Before removal of the engine it is necessary: to prepare the corresponding tool, capacity for plum of impellent oil and cooling liquid, cables, the load-lifting mechanism and a hook. For carrying out considered work the platform where the car can be left with the removed engine should be chosen. Besides, it is necessary will familiarize with contents of the present section.

1. Disconnect a weight cable from the storage battery and remove the storage battery to exclude emergence of short circuit at works. Removal of the storage battery will allow to release also working space for performance of further works.
2. Remove a cowl. Previously establish a cowl in vertical situation and disconnect a hose of supply of liquid to nozzles of a stekloomyvatel. Lead round a pencil hinges on a surface of a steel sheet of a cowl later to establish a cowl in former situation. Unscrew screws of fastening of hinges. Thus the assistant should hold a cowl. Remove a cowl and put it on well protected place. Enclose under cowl edges a thick rag.
3. If the engine understands, it is necessary to merge impellent oil.
4. Merge liquid from cooling system (The section Filling of a cooler of system of cooling of Head the Current leaving and service) and stop up hoses with caps. Completely remove a radiator as it is described in cooling and heating Systems.
5. Remove a hose of absorption of air.
6. Remove a driving belt of the pump of the hydraulic booster of a steering, remove from the engine the pump or take him aside.
7. Disconnect from the engine all cables, hoses and pipelines. Mark their situation.
8. Disconnect from the inlet pipeline a cable of management of gas. Its fastening is shown on an illustration "Connection of a drive of management by gas with the lever of a butterfly valve and a support".
9. Unscrew bolts of connection of a final collector and a reception pipe of system of production of the fulfilled gases and take a pipe aside.
10. Unscrew bolts of fastening of a transmission to the block of cylinders. For this purpose at first unscrew the bottom six bolts. Disconnect the working hydrocylinder of a drive of coupling and hang up it on a hose. After that unscrew four bolts from the top party of a transmission.
11. View of the right and left support of the engine. Unscrew bolts of support of the engine from the left and right side and completely remove the left support of the engine.
12. Disconnect a vacuum hose of the amplifier of a brake from the inlet pipeline. For this purpose weaken collars and remove hoses in junctions them with the fuel distributive highway. It is necessary to mean that fuel is under some pressure, and hoses should be disconnected carefully. After a detachment of fuel hoses close their ends caps in the form of a bolt of the corresponding diameter for prevention of an effluence of fuel.


When opening the pipeline being under pressure, there is a fuel emission. At all have no close a control lamp. At an otvorachivaniye of connection it is recommended to put on it a wrench and to cover it from above with a rag. After that slowly unscrew a hollow bolt.

13. Disconnect and расстыкуйте all cables of system of injection of fuel.
14. Disconnect heating hoses from a reverse side of the block of cylinders.
15. Rasstykuyte following electric connections: the distributor of ignition or the ignition module (pay attention to a way of joining with an ignition cable), the sensor of the index of pressure of oil, the sensor of the index of temperature of oil, the sensor of position VMT of the piston, the index of level of oil, (if it is established), the sensor of the index of temperature of cooling liquid, the sensor of the remote thermometer. Not all listed devices are available on each engine. It is important to find and disunite all cable connections, and also accurately to take them aside, having provided possibility of a free vynimaniye of the engine from a compartment.
16. Disconnect the bottom protective leaf if it is available.
17. Hook on cables or chains of the load-lifting mechanism for eyes on the top party of a head of cylinders and lift the engine, having torn off it from a suspension bracket so that from it was hung out.
18. Now lift the engine up. Watch to damaging any cable connection or the pipeline, and also behind to striking the engine about any elements in an impellent compartment. At performance of described operation it is recommended to use the help of the assistant.


Installation of the engine is made in sequence, return to its removal. Thus it is necessary to observe the following instructions concerning first of all the moments of an inhaling of carving connections.

1. Reliably fix the engine on chains or cables of the elevating mechanism, and carefully lower it in an impellent compartment. Watch to damaging any elements in an impellent compartment. After engine installation into place tighten bolts of fastening of the engine to a transmission the moment of 76 Nanometers. The left engine mount fix to a longitudinal beam the moment of an inhaling of 52 Nanometers, and both support of the engine will fix to suspension bracket beams the moment of 85 Nanometers. After that it is possible to disconnect the engine from the load-lifting mechanism.
2. Establish into place system of production of the fulfilled gases. If necessary replace laying. Bolts of fastening of elements of system grease with greasing. Moment of an inhaling of carving connections of 25 Nanometers.
3. Establish new sealing rings топливопроводов.
4. A vacuum hose of the amplifier of a brake fix the moment of 20 Nanometers.
- At installation of the hydraulic booster of a steering a bolt from a pulley tighten the moment of 18 Nanometers, other bolts the moment of 25 Nanometers.
5. Put on maple a belt (the arrow on a belt should indicate the former direction). Pull a belt as it will be described below.
6. Fill system of cooling with liquid (look Head the Current leaving and service). Be convinced that the drain crane on a radiator is closed.
7. After installation of a cowl check, whether freely it opens and closed and whether correctly it is established.
8. Join electric connections, watching closely correctness of interface. The mistake in joining can lead to short circuit.
