Vacuum amplifier of a brake


For identification of the possible reasons of low-effective work of brake system owing to defects of the vacuum amplifier it is necessary to carry out the following works.

1. At the idle engine of 4-5 times press a pedal of a brake and leave a pedal pressed.
2. Start the engine. In process of increase of number of turns weakening of influence of a pedal on a foot that points to emergence in the amplifier of vacuum should be felt.
3. Let's work to the engine of 2 minutes and stop it.
4. Press a brake pedal (ask the assistant) and put an ear probably closer to the vacuum amplifier. By pressing a pedal the "hissing" accompanying process of formation of vacuum should be audible. The sound disappears after 4-5 pressing a pedal.


Type of the vacuum amplifier of a brake

Explanations to positions are provided in the text.

1. Removal of the vacuum amplifier is made according to иллюстрациейВид the vacuum amplifier of a brake. Thus the description belongs to model from the middle of 1995 of release. On earlier models process of removal is carried out similarly.
2. Disconnect a weight cable from the storage battery.
3. Remove the main brake cylinder (1) as it is described for the car of the corresponding year of release.
4. Weaken a collar and remove a vacuum hose (2) from a branch pipe on the vacuum amplifier.
5. Disconnect from salon a fork (3) from a brake pedal. For this purpose remove a spring clip from the end of a finger of a pusher.
6. Unscrew four nuts of fastening (4) amplifiers (5) from a forward wall of an impellent compartment. To unscrew the bottom nut it is possible by means of a sharnirny head with the extension piece.
7. Take out the amplifier from an impellent compartment, having as appropriate developed it.

External details of the vacuum amplifier

At repair the details shown on an illustration are subject to replacement only. Explanations to positions are provided in the text.

1. Unscrew a lock-nut (2) and a fork (1).
2. Remove a clip (3).
3. Remove a protective cover (4) cases of the valve.
4. Remove the shock-absorber (5).
5. Remove the filter (6), two of consolidation and one remote washer (7).
6. A screw-driver remove the holder (8) on other party of the amplifier of a brake and squeeze out a level and consolidation (9).

Before installation of any details it is necessary to check a fork, a protective cover, the shock-absorber, the filter and a level with consolidation and if necessary to replace them.


Assembly is carried out according to an illustration External details of the vacuum amplifier in the shown sequence. The nut of fastening of a fork is tightened by the moment of 20 Nanometers.
Installation of the vacuum amplifier is carried out in the way described below. If the vacuum amplifier is replaced, it should be adjusted. Thus it is necessary to distinguish old and new executions:

1. Establish the vacuum amplifier and fix it nuts. On the car to the middle of 1995 of release of a nut tighten the moment of 21 Nanometer.
2. At putting on of a vacuum hose it is necessary to pay attention to the arrow direction on a hose. The arrow should indicate towards the engine.
3. Other works are carried out to sequences, return to removal.
4. In summary check operability of the vacuum pump as it is described at the beginning of the present section.

If the vacuum amplifier was replaced with the new

If the vacuum amplifier of a new series from the middle of 1995 of release was replaced, it is impossible to adjust a pusher usual means since the vacuum pump and calibre for this purpose are required. Here it is necessary to hope only that adjustment of the removed detail corresponds to adjustment of a new detail.

At the car of a back issue the pusher can be measured and adjusted. The acting part of a pusher from the flange plane on the vacuum amplifier till the end of a pusher is measured. On an illustration it is the size "A". If this size falls outside the limits 18.0 - 18.2 mm, the lock-nut of a pusher is weakened and the pusher turns. The nut is tightened by the moment of 27 Nanometers.
