Broad tank of the engine of 2.4 l

The engine is equipped with circulating system of cooling. For circulation of cooling liquid the lopastny water pump serves. The system of cooling works with a separate broad tank.
The system of cooling carries out branch of the superfluous heat arising at operation of the engine, in environment. The part of energy of combustion of fuel in the engine is allocated in the form of heat. This heat in a condition in the shortest possible time to heat up the engine to such temperature which can put it out of action. The part of this heat is used for heating of salon of the car. Thanks to the corresponding placement of pipelines, the heat exchanger (radiator) and the thermostat fast warming up of system is reached.
The thermostat carries out regulation of temperature of cooling liquid in the engine and the heat exchanger of internal system of heating depending on a thermal condition of the engine.
Since a certain temperature, the thermostat connects a radiator to a contour of circulation of cooling liquid. At further increase of temperature of liquid the fan directing a stream of air through a radiator and turns on, provides, thus, additional cooling of circulating liquid.

At manufacturer the system is filled with cooling liquid which should not change within a year.
At preparation of cooling liquid it is necessary to maintain a certain ratio of antifreeze and water. As it was already mentioned, it is necessary to apply the cooling liquid recommended by Opel firm as its chemical composition is specially developed for the engine of this car. Volumes of operational liquids are specified in Specifications. Liquid protects system to temperature of external air – 40 ° Page.
