Removal and installation of power shafts of forward wheels

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a shaft.
2. Unscrew four bolts of fastening of an arm of the forward bridge.
3. Take out drive knot from the bridge.
4. Following liquid collect in the substituted capacity.
5. Remove from a shaft casing a lock ring and the bearing shown on an illustration.
6. Now remove become visible a lock ring.
7. Remove an epiploon and an arm of fastening of the forward bridge.
8. At assembly establish the holder, a new epiploon and a new lock ring.
9. Establish the new bearing.
10. Fix it a new lock ring.
11. Establish a power shaft on the car.
13. After installation check oil level in differential. Oil should reach the bottom edge of an opening for filling. If necessary add oil.

REPLACEMENT OF THE COVER OF THE HINGE OF EQUAL ANGULAR SPEEDS

At replacement of a cover it is necessary to enter established amount of konsistentny greasing into hinges.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Unscrew two bolts.
2. Remove a brake support from the directing  
3. Fix a support a wire to the chassis. Do not suspend a support for a hose.
4. Disconnect a rotary fist from the top and bottom levers of a suspension bracket and from steering draft (see the separate description).
5. Remove a screw-driver a collar of fastening of a cover from the hinge case.
6. Remove a cover, having pulled together it inside. Pay attention to in what direction specifies the collar end.
7. A screw-driver take out from a groove in the hinge case a lock ring.

8. Take out a shaft from the case and a nave. Do not damage a boot on the end of a nave of a shaft since it should be established again.

If necessary the hinge can be disassembled further. However it is quite difficult work. Here its short description is provided.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Carefully clear an internal cavity of the hinge.
2. Remove from the hinge a lock ring on the shaft end.
3. Partially remove the hinge.
4. Take out a screw-driver the spheres shown on an illustration.
5. Turn the case on a sphere half.
6. Shift a separator in the cover direction.
7. Before a holder there is a lock ring which is necessary for removing (by means of nippers).
8. Remove a holder and the case from a shaft.
9. Remove both covers, having disconnected collars. Pay attention to how collars are established.
10. Carefully clear all details.
11. Check hinges on wear. Worn-out details replace.
12. Fill with special greasing the external hinge. The Opel firm applies for this purpose greasing No. 19 41 52.
13. Fill with greasing half a cover cavity.
14. Fix a cover a collar on the external hinge. Watch that the cover was not braided and rose on the former place.
15. Fix on a drive an internal cover.
16. Collect according to an illustration a separator and a holder.
17. A separator insert so that smaller diameter specified forward.
18. A holder fix a lock ring.
19. Openings under spheres in a separator and grooves in a holder holder turn on size of a half of diameter of a sphere expose to one line.
20. Press a hand one after another all six balls, as shown.
21. Insert a power shaft into a nave.
22. Fix the internal hinge a lock ring in a separator.
23. A lock ring turn so that its ends were between two grooves in a separator.
26. Fill a half of volume of a cover with the greasing mentioned above.
27. Put on the hinge a cover.
28. Insert carefully under cover edge a stupid screw-driver and let out from a cover air.
29. Straighten a cover and measure distance between the ends. It should make 147.5 mm.
30. Fix a cover collars. Watch that the ends of collars were in former situation.
31. Establish a support, the lever of a rotary fist and steering drafts as it is described in appropriate sections.

AUTOMATIC BLOCKING OF NAVES

Frontera Sport and its updatings are equipped with naves of a hand-operated free wheeling. In limousines automatic naves of a free wheeling are established. Both executions can be established by the special order instead of usual serial execution.
Removal and installation of an automatic blokirator of naves it is described below. It is necessary to specify that functioning and wear of considered mechanisms can be checked only in the conditions of a repair truck.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the lever of a choice of transfers of a transfer case in the situation "2H"
2. Move the car approximately on meter forward and back to remove blocking of naves.
3. Further dismantling is made according to иллюстр. Unscrew six bolts and uncover also the nave case.
4. Remove a lock ring
5. Remove compensatory washers and the coupling of a power shaft.
6. If there is an assumption of malfunction of a blokirator of a nave, it is necessary to send her to repair in a repair truck.


Remark

At the removed blokirator of a nave it is possible to check an inhaling of the bearing of a wheel. Look the description below.


Blokirator of a nave is established as follows:

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Insert an internal cam and a spring.
2. A spring on a cam direct a groove towards a rotary fist.
3. Provide a full prileganiye of a cam to a lock washer. It is possible to use a hammer, but it is necessary to be careful not to damage cam teeths.
4. For providing the gap specified below, it is necessary to extend completely a shaft from a nave.
5. Check, that the calibre completely adjoined to a lock washer. For this purpose put on a shaft KM-747 calibre
6. According to an illustration establish the KM-748 tool on a shaft and completely pull out it.
7. Measure a gap between the established emphasis and a groove under a lock ring in a power shaft. The gap should make 0 - 0.1 mm. The gap can be adjusted by installation of compensatory washers in thickness of 0.1 mm.
8. After measurement calibre remove. The internal cam remains untouched.
9. A power shaft, coupling teeths, the case and a cover of a nave grease with special HD2 (94 171 686) greasing.
10. Eight grams of greasing are entered into the nave case, five grams in a cover. At all do not enter superfluous greasing since it can break normal operation of the coupling.
11. Establish the coupling.
12. Cut in a remote ring should be combined with tooth on an internal cam. Teeths of the coupling and an internal cam combine by turn of a shaft of a drive. Assembly is carried out according to an illustration.
13. Establish the chosen compensatory washers for the end of a shaft of a drive.
15. Insert into a groove a new lock ring.
16. Check, that the lock ring reliably sat in a groove since the knot of a nave is under considerable loading.
17. In repair trucks to this purpose apply the tool shown on an illustration.
18. Places of contact of the case of a nave and a cover grease with hermetic.
19. Turn the case (the easy provorachivaniye means a right choice of compensatory washers).
20. Put a cover.
21. Bolts of fastening tighten the moment of 60 Nanometers.

MANUAL BLOKIRATOR OF NAVES

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the lever of a choice of transfers to the situation "2H"
2. Turn a nave of a free wheeling in the situation "FREE".
3. Unscrew six bolts.
4. Remove the case and the coupling.
5. Remove a lock ring and compensatory washers from the end of a shaft of a drive.
6. Unscrew six bolts.
7. Remove a nave blokirator
8. Wring out the coupling from the case.
9. Turn it clockwise.
10. Remove the control button, a press spring, a lock ball and a lock spring from the case.
11. Remove a lead and a lock ring from the coupling by ring turn counter-clockwise.
12. Remove a lock ball and a lock spring from the control button.
13. Take out the H-ring from the case.
14. Remove a nave blokirator
15. Check all details on wear and if necessary replace.
16. For assembly the special HD2 greasing mentioned above is used.
17. The following details are greased: both surfaces of a plug-in ring, internal surface of a ring, shlitsevy surface of the case of a nave, H-ring and contact surfaces of the control button and case, lock ball and lock spring.

Now again collect a blokirator of naves:

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the H-ring, the control button, a lock ball and a lock ring.
2. Establish a lock ring on the case. The lock ball should be combined with a groove in a cover.
3. Insert a lock spring into the coupling. The direct end of a spring should be combined from the end of cut of a flute of the coupling.
4. Establish on the coupling a lead.
5. Combine lead teeths with teeths couplings. Thus check, that the ledge (And) on a lead lay on one line from the unbent end of a spring.
6. A lead of the top round of a spring expose over sample (In). The scheme of installation is provided on an illustration.
 
7. Establish on the case the coupling and a press spring. It is reached by pressing and turn on the left towards the button. Assembly is shown on an illustration.
8. Collect a nave blokirator, having established a new lock ring in compliance with an illustration.
9. Grease with hermetic the interfaced surfaces of a nave and a cover.
10. Establish a cover.
11. Fix it six bolts the moment of 60 Nanometers.
12. Measure a gap between a blokirator of a nave and a lock ring of a power shaft. Better all this it is reached by indicator installation on a wheel nave.
13. If the gap falls outside the limits 0 - 0.3 mm, establish a compensatory washer. There are washers in thickness of 0.1 mm.
14. Establish the coupling and the case on a nave blokirator.
15. External teeths of the coupling combine with a groove on the case.
16. Cover contact surfaces of the case and a nave blokirator with hermetic.
17. Bolts of fastening tighten the moment of 12 Nanometers.
