GENERAL INFORMATION

Removal and installation

THE ENGINE OF 2.0 L OF OHC TILL THE END OF 1996. RELEASE


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Merge cooling liquid (the section Filling of a cooler of system of cooling of Head the Current leaving and service).
2. Remove a gear belt as it was described in Head the Engine.
3. Unscrew bolts of fastening and remove the pump of cooling liquid (1) on иллюстр. from the block of cylinders. At once clear an interfaced surface.
At pump installation in a repair truck special (silicone) greasing is applied. This greasing is put on a circle of an interfaced surface of the pump. Establish the pump with a new sealing ring on the block of cylinders. Bolts tighten the moment of 25 Nanometers.
4. Put on a gear belt, adjust its tension as it is described for the OHC engine (undressed the Drive of a camshaft of Head the Engine).
In summary fill system with cooling liquid. Start the engine and check tightness of system.

THE ENGINE OF 2.0 L OF OHC SINCE 1997. RELEASE


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Merge cooling liquid (the section Filling of a cooler of system of cooling of Head the Current leaving and service).
2. Remove a gear belt as it was described for the OHC engine of 2.0 l (undressed the Drive of a camshaft of Head the Engine).
3. Unscrew bolts of fastening and remove a tension roller of a gear belt.
4. Disconnect from collars a cable of the sensor of provision of a cranked shaft on an internal part of a protective cover of a gear belt.
Unscrew bolts and remove from the block of cylinders the pump of cooling liquid (1) on иллюстр. An interfaced surface of the block of cylinders at once clear.
At pump installation in a repair truck special (silicone) greasing is applied. This greasing is put on a circle of an interfaced surface of the pump.
5. Establish the pump with a new sealing ring on the block of cylinders. The ledge on the pump should enter into a groove (2) on the block of cylinders. The place of interface is shown on иллюстр. Bolts tighten the moment of 25 Nanometers.
Establish a tension roller of a gear belt.
Put on a belt and adjust its tension as it was described for the engine of 2.0 l since 1997 of release (undressed the Drive of a camshaft of Head the Engine).
In summary fill system with cooling liquid. Start the engine and check tightness of system.

DOHC ENGINE


Removal and installation of the pump of cooling liquid is carried out similar to the description for the engine of 2.0 l since 1997 of release.
The gear belt acts in film, established and stretches similar to the description for the DOHC engine (undressed the Drive of a camshaft of Head the Engine).

ENGINE OF 2.4 L

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a weight cable from the storage battery.
2. Uncover the fan and hang up it on a krylchatka.
3. Remove the vyazkostny coupling.
4. In the presence of the conditioner remove maple a belt of a drive of the compressor.
5. Remove maple a belt of a drive of the oil pump and the generator.
6. Remove a pulley of a cranked shaft, holding a shaft from a provorachivaniye (include transfer).
7. Disconnect hoses from the pump of cooling liquid and the thermostat. Pay attention to an arrangement of separate hoses. Incorrectly attached hoses can lead to serious damages of the engine.
8. Unscrew bolts, as is shown in иллюстр., also remove the pump from a cover of a case of a drive of distribution.
9. Carefully clear interfaced surfaces of the pump and a cover and establish new laying. Establish the pump on a place and tighten bolts of fastening the moment of 120 Nanometers. Put on and pull maple a belt as it was described earlier. The same treats a belt of a drive of the compressor of the conditioner.
In summary fill system of cooling with liquid as it was described in appropriate section and check system on tightness.

Repair of the pump of cooling liquid

The pump of cooling liquid is not subject to repair and should be replaced in case of damage. After removal the pump is checked on tightness (it is visible on existence of spots of a rust) and the nave for check of bearings is turned.

Replacement and tension of a maple belt

For a drive of the units established on the engine since 1995 of release (the volume of 2.0 l of OHC and DOHC) uses so-called multicostal maple a belt. The belt stretches automatically. In the presence of the conditioner the belt in addition brings a compressor pulley into rotation. The similar belt gives in rotation the pump of the hydraulic booster of a steering.
At the engine of 2.0 l of old execution and the engine of 2.4 l maple the belt stretches generator shift. The special measuring tool which use here is not considered is applied to the correct tension of a belt in repair trucks. Generally the belt in the center of the maximum distance between pulleys should cave in on 12-13 mm under the influence of a hand thumb.

THE ENGINE OF 2.0 L OF OHC (TO THE MIDDLE OF 1995. RELEASE) AND ENGINE OF 2.4 L


As it was already mentioned, the tension of a belt is checked by the special measuring device. At temporary control the tension of a belt of the engine of 2.0 l of former model and the engine of 2.4 l is checked as follows:

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Press a hand thumb in the middle of the maximum distance between pulleys. Whether check there corresponds a deflection to the established size.
2. If it is necessary, weaken fastening of a tension level (the engine of 2.0 l) or a nut of the tension screw (the engine of 2.4 l) and the bottom bolt of fastening of the generator and wring out the generator outside of (2.0 l) or turn the tension screw (2.4 l) so that to pull a belt.
3. Holding the generator in this situation, tighten both weakened bolts the moment of 25 Nanometers (2.0 l) or tighten nuts of the tension screw (2.4 l). After adjustment check a belt tension. The tension screw of the engine of 2.4 l is shown on иллюстр.

Replacement of a maple belt is carried out as follows:

ENGINE OF 2.0 L

Replacement is carried out after weakening of fastening of the generator as it is described above. After replacement check a belt tension.

ENGINE OF 2.4 L

In the presence of the conditioner it is necessary to remove maple a belt of a drive of the compressor before to replace a belt of a drive of the pump of cooling liquid. It is necessary to remove a belt of a drive of the pump of the hydraulic booster also.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Weaken both nuts shown on иллюстр. shooters, also unscrew tension screws so that to weaken and remove a belt.
2. Put on new maple a belt and adjust its tension the tension screw as it was described above. Tighten nuts the moment of 25 Nanometers.

THE ENGINE OF 2.0 L FROM THE MIDDLE OF 1995. RELEASE

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1a. The scheme of laying of a maple belt of the engine of 2.0 l since 1995 of release and the DOHC engine without the conditioner.
1b. The scheme of laying of a maple belt of the engine of 2.0 l from the middle of 1995 of release and at the DOHC engine with the pump of the hydraulic booster of a steering and the conditioner.
1c. On иллюстр. 1a and 1b the scheme of laying of a multicostal belt for the engine with and without the pump of the hydraulic booster of a steering is shown. The tension of a belt is supported by automatically tension roller. It is possible to check only the mobile tension lever that is shown on иллюстр. 1c. If the tension lever (1) is not between two emphasis (2), maple a belt and a tension roller replace. Replacement is made as follows:
2. Establish a key, as is shown in иллюстр., on a tension roller also turn it in the arrow direction (clockwise). Thus the tension of a belt weakens and it can be removed. If the belt is established again, it is necessary paint or a felt-tip pen to put the direction of its rotation on a belt. For deduction of a tension roller it is possible to insert a pin in a place designated on an illustration (1).
3. Put on a belt all pulleys and again delay a roller and then press it to a belt. At the first start-up of the engine the belt tension is established again automatically.
In view of that a belt multicostal, it is important to lay correctly it in flutes of pulleys. After that take out a pin from a tension roller and again release a roller on a belt.
Sometimes it is necessary to replace or remove a tension roller of a belt. In this case after removal of a belt turn a roller in the direction shown on иллюстр. point 2 so that the pin (1) entered into the opening intended for it. Turn out both bolts of a tension roller and remove a roller.
At installation the roller is again fixed by a pin (1). Bolts tighten the moment of 18 Nanometers. The belt is put on, the pin is taken out and the tension roller nestles on a belt.

DOHC ENGINE

Control of a tension and replacement of a belt are carried out similar to a belt of the engine of 2.0 l, release from the middle of 1995. Before removal it is necessary to put on outer side of a belt with paint to the shooter specifying the direction rotation belt if the belt is established again. Replacement of a tension roller is made in the way described above.
