Identification numbers of the car

GENERAL INFORMATION

Identification number of the car contains the data necessary at the order and purchase of spare parts and conducting of correspondence. In the real management the locations of identification numbers on the chassis and the car engine are specified. The same data are provided in the passport of the car and the admission to operation.
Identification number consists of letters and figures which it is necessary to specify at the order of spare parts. The correct indication of data of the car excludes mistakes at acquisition of spare parts.

The plate of type and the plate with the indication of weight of the car is on the right in the top part of the panel of a front. The data specified on the identification plate, are coded in English: control number of type (TA-№), identification number of the car (GVW), the gross transported weight (GCW), additional load of the forward bridge (Axle 1), the back bridge (Axle 2) and number of type (Type).

The identification number which has been beaten out on the right longitudinal beam of the chassis is important. The arrangement of this number is shown on an illustration.

The so-called service plate is fixed on a partition of an impellent compartment. This plate contains the following data: model number, chassis number, a delivery code, an option code (the special equipment delivered by request), an equipment code, a code of a paint and varnish covering, a code of an upholstery of seats.

Number of the engine is beaten out to the left wall of the block of cylinders.
On the code of the car containing 17 positions, it is possible to identify precisely your car and to obtain data on engine model, base, whether has the car sports execution or a flat roof, whether has an execution body the versatile person, three - or five-door execution to define year of release and the manufacturer. Number positions with 12 on 17 indicate actually number of the car.
It is necessary to mean that some of the engines, established on the Frontera car, are applied as well on other cars of Opel firm (for example, Omega, Vectra). However number of the engine indicates the Frontera car engine.
