GENERAL INFORMATION

GEAR SHIFTING РКПП

The scheme of provisions of a control lever of RKPP is put from above on its handle.

For inclusion of the 5th transfer it is necessary to take away the lever to the right, overcoming resistance, then its tax forward.
Inclusion of a reverse gear is made only at motionlessly standing car and in any way earlier than in three seconds after squeezing of a pedal of coupling.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Overcoming resistance, shift the lever to the right, then submit it back.
2. If to include demanded transfer it is not possible, return the lever to neutral situation, release a coupling pedal, then squeeze out it again and repeat attempt of a choice of transfer.

SWITCHING OF MODES OF THE TRANSFER CASE

By means of a control lever a transfer case the driver has choice possibility between usual and all-wheel drive movement modes.

At a choice of an all-wheel drive mode ("4Н" or "4L") on an instrument guard of the car the control lamp (16) lights up

Possible provisions of a control lever are designated from above on its handle.

The transfer case has no neutral situation therefore the lever of its management should be always reliably established in one of possible three provisions ("2H", 4Н or "4L").
The 2H mode is intended for car movement on a normal paving, provides the maximum economy of fuel consumption and the minimum noise background. At inclusion of this mode it is necessary to disconnect manual blocking of naves of forward wheels (model with manual blocking of naves - see below).
The 4H mode provides optimum conditions for movement on a damp or ice-covered paving. Do not forget to include manual blocking of naves of forward wheels. Speed of movement of the car should not exceed 100 km/h (60 miles/h).
The 4L mode provides the maximum capacity of return of the engine and is intended for use at car movement in the conditions of a mountainous terrain, on off road terrain, sand, dirt or deep snow. Manual blocking of naves of forward wheels should be included. Speed of movement of the car should not exceed 40 km/h (25 miles/h).
Switching of a control lever of a transfer case does not demand squeezing of a pedal of coupling.
Switching from the 2H mode under way possibly only in a case when manual blocking of naves of forward wheels is already included in the 4H mode (models with manual blocking of naves).

Prevention

At all do not switch a transfer case from the 2H mode in the 4H mode under way if manual or automatic blocking of naves of forward wheels is not included!

Box switching from the 4H mode in the 2H mode can be made at any speeds of movement of the car, thus there is no need for squeezing of a pedal of coupling.

Prevention

Switching of a transfer case from the 4H mode in the 4L mode and back should be made only on motionlessly standing car!

Models with automatic blocking of naves of forward wheels

On naves of forward wheels of such models the corresponding marking is put.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. For inclusion of blocking of naves stop the car and transfer a control lever of a transfer case to the situation "4H" or "4L".
2. Blocking will occur automatically at the moment of a car troganiye from a place.

Remark

Even if the lever is included in the provision "2H", naves will remain blocked until the movement direction will be replaced.
3. For shutdown of blocking stop the car, transfer transmission to the situation "2H", then slowly get under way from a place in the direction opposite last taking place. Will enough promote already on one meter.

When the transfer case is included in the 4H or 4L mode, shutdown of blocking of naves occurs instantly to its return inclusion at change of the direction of movement.

Models with manual blocking of naves

On naves of forward wheels of such models the corresponding marking is put.

For shutdown of blocking of the coupling it is necessary to turn counter-clockwise and to bring into the situation "FREE" (see in the same place).

FEATURES OF DRIVING OF ALL-WHEEL DRIVE CARS

Movement on the route in a cold season

The increased coupling with a paving of all-wheel drive models provides to the car the best controllability at movement in heavy road conditions, in particular at deep snow and a strong icing. Nevertheless, the full drive at all does not provide protivoyuzovy protection. Moreover, often the conclusion from drift of the rear-wheel or front-wheel car is made more simply than in case of the 4WD models. In view of the aforesaid, it is not necessary to abuse inclusion of all-wheel drive modes at movement on superficial snow or an ice crust.
  – Depending on specific conditions switch a transfer case in the 4L or 2H mode;
  – Start the engine, include the lowest transfer and start to move with minimum possible turns, manipulating gas and coupling pedals;
  – Try not to allow strong pro-slipping of coupling;
  – Try to transfer as soon as possible transmission to the highest transfer and watch that engine turns excessively did not rise.

Movement on off road terrain

When deterioration of a paving gives the grounds for inclusion of an all-wheel drive mode, try to observe the following main requirements:
  – Move rather slowly, on the lowest transfers, in view of road and weather conditions;
  – For driving try to use a gas pedal, having minimized using brakes;
  – Try not to allow pro-slippings of coupling and a provorachivaniye of wheels;
  – Avoid sharp turns of a wheel.
Try to take into consideration all weather and road factors - be guided by common sense and try to estimate car possibilities soberly. Before going to a long trip, beforehand develop a movement route. Before departure check a technical condition of the car.

OVERCOMING OF WATER BARRIERS

Try not to call in in deep water.
Before starting a crossing, study a ground relief of a barrier, choose the most flat entrance to water.
Switch a transfer case in the situation "4L" and include the first transfer.
Try not to allow jumps of turns of the engine in order to avoid water hit in release system if the cut of an exhaust pipe is below a surface. Move with a speed no more than 5 km/h (3 miles/h) and try not to create many splashes.
Try not to move against the current. If such possibility is absent, try to develop the car under such corner to a current vector that running water was not filled in in an impellent compartment.
Avoid hit of splashes in an impellent compartment in avoidance останова the engine owing to moistening of components of system of ignition.
Watch, that water did not get to an engine air inlet as it can lead to jamming of the last and need of carrying out expensive repair.
After successful overcoming of a water barrier check serviceability of functioning of brakes.
For acceleration of drying of working surfaces of brake mechanisms, several times brake the car, moving on low speed.
Whether as soon as possible check water got to filtering element of an air purifier, in the engine, transmission, cases of bridges and car salon.
Replace all greasing liquids which have got a molochnoobrazny consistence, being the hit certificate in water oil.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES AT MOVEMENT IN ALL-WHEEL DRIVE MODES

At movement in the 4WD modes it is necessary to observe some special precautionary measures.
In order to avoid failure of components of the transmission line and risk of loss of management avoid car use in all-wheel drive modes with the blocked naves of forward wheels at movement on a dry firm paving (asphalt).
On models with automatic blocking of naves of forward wheels it is not provided what alarm system informing the driver on inclusion of blocking therefore in the absence of confidence of a condition of blokirator (for example, at change of the driver) just in case it is necessary to make procedure of shutdown of blocking.
Do not forget that the center of gravity of SUVs usually is rather highly over the earth that should be considered at a choice of a manner of driving - do not try to make turns with the same high speed as do it on ordinary cars.
The strong lateral wind also can make appreciable impact on controllability of the car. Try to reduce speed of movement during especially strong squalls.
