Steering with the hydraulic booster
All Frontera cars are equipped with the steering mechanism of the screw nut type on circulating balls with the hydraulic booster. As well as other knots of the car the design of a steering changed. Concerning a steering such change was carried out for cars since 1997 of release. In models of earlier release the steering column with the provision of a steering wheel fixed and regulated on height was applied. Since 1997 of release only the steering column with the provision of a steering wheel regulated on height is applied. Also constructive changes of a steering on cars after 1995 of release were carried out. In the course of the repair description these changes are if necessary mentioned. Works with a steering demand a certain qualification. Almost all modern cars are equipped with safety cushions for the driver that creates additional difficulties at carrying out repair. The qualified mechanics have special preparation for work with safety cushions. In the real guide of instructions to removal and installation of safety cushions it is not brought. At works on a steering it is necessary to mean the following: All carving connections which had a covering by means for fixing of "Loctite", should be passable by a lerka before secondary application. The exception is made by mikrokapsulirovanny bolts. The Opel firm recommends to apply means No. 15 10 177 to fixing of carving connections. All collars of fastening of hoses of hydrosystem tighten the moment of 3.5 Nanometers. Glues and hermetics have a certain service life. Do not apply the specified substances if service life expired them. Cables after their detachment in the course of repair should be fixed by collars again. It is not allowed to suspend cables simply. The liquid merged from the hydraulic booster, should not be used again. Utilization of liquid should be carried out according to operating rules. At performance of the majority of works with a steering the car should be established on supports. Security measures at work with a safety cushion are given in the following subsection. |
