Starter check

Check, whether the storage battery is charged and whether have an oxide film connecting plugs of the battery. Especially it belongs to the weight plug if it is not rather strong tightened.
To check a starter at full tension of the battery, it is necessary to connect plugs "30" (the big plug) and "50" (the small plug near big) a cable to cross-section section ^{at least 4.0 mm2}. If now the starter works faultlessly, it is necessary to check wires to a starter. If the starter does not turn, it should be removed and checked.
Exact check is carried out at the verifying stand or an electrotechnical workshop.

Removal and starter installation

Disconnect a weight cable from the storage battery.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Lift and establish a forward part of the car on supports.

2. Before a detachment of cables from a starter, it is necessary to remember an order of their connection. Disconnect a positive cable of the storage battery from the plug of a starter and further both cables from plugs 16 and 50. If disturbs, disconnect the bottom steel sheet.

3. Now it is possible to remove a starter. Its fastening can be various for various executions of the engine. Bolts can be inserted from the engine or a transmission. It is possible to apply also basic arm.

4. Remove a starter, having developed it.

The starter in sequence is established, to return to removal. It is necessary to take into consideration the various moments of an inhaling. Fastening bolts from the engine tighten the moment of 45 Nanometers, a bolt from a transmission the moment of 75 Nanometers. The starter support (if it is available) is tightened by the moment of 25 Nanometers to the block of cylinders and the moment of 7 Nanometers to a starter.

Starter repair

If check of the generator shows that malfunction is available in the generator, it is necessary to hand over it in repair in a specialized workshop. In the presence of experience it is possible to disassemble and collect a starter independently according to иллюстр.
Starter brushes as a result of long operation wear out and can be replaced independently. The back part of a starter (remove a small cover, turn out bolts and remove a collector) is for this purpose opened and brushes are taken out.
